Fire-brigade visit

Many thanks to the fire brigade from Ballaghaderreen who visited us today. It was a very informative and enjoyable visit :-)

Green-Schools flag

We recieved our Green-Schools flag for Global Citizenship litter and waste in the Radisson Hotel Athlone. We had a lovely day out :-)

The boys team had a good win against against Carrick N.S. in Ballinlough. They are now through to the semi-finals :-)

The 6th class participated in the Community Spring Clean Up today.  Well done to them!

Congratulations to Catherine Casey in the senior room who played in the exhibition game  for Cumann na mBunscol at Dr. Hyde park on Sunday. A great representation for our school !



10km cycle


The senior room finished up their cycle right project this week with a 10km cycle. Many thanks to Roscommon Sports Partnership.



Wellness week



The school enjoyed wellness week this week . We have enjoyed buddying up at breaktime, playing board games and designing well-being posters. We also had a bake sale on Monday and enjoyed many treats :-) We had a non-uniform day on Friday. The senior room completed a 10k cycle with Roscommon Sports Partnership. A very enjoyable week!

Investigate woodlands workshop

 

    Thanks to Rob from green-Schools for facilitating an investigate woodlands workshop. We got to learn all about the trees around the school and he also brought leaves and seeds. We worked out the age of trees and also what height they are.

 Well done to Eoin and Michaela in 5th class who played in the exhibition game  as part of Cuman na mBunscol at the Roscommon v Sligo game in Markievicz park on Saturday.  They also got kitted out with the Roscommon kit.

St.Patrick's Day Parade

 

  

 

 We came first place in the Community category at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ballaghaderreen. Massive congratulations to everyone and also for their hard work. We used sign language and danced to  Mr. Blue Sky Waving Hands.

   

 

 

  

World champion!

 

  

 

 We were very lucky to recieve a visit from World champion Irish dancer Ronan Kelly. He demonstrated his talents and also took questions from the students. A visit enjoyed by all!

World book day was celebrated here at the school with some fantastic costumes!  We also enjoyed hearing all about their favourite books and characters.
