History
We are located between Frenchpark and Ballaghaderreen, on the old Ballaghaderreen road. We are a 3 teacher school with 1 special education teacher, 2 SNA's and a part-time secretary. We were lucky enough to expand our school building a few years ago, with a new resource room. The school is under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin. Tibohine N.S. has a great history. Many of you will know this as you were present at our centenary seven years ago. We really enjoyed the day. We received two letters for the celebration, one from Mary McAleese and the other from Buckingham Palace.
We have had many Gaelic players in our school over the years including past pupils and current pupils' grandparents. Sean McDermott attended this school and so did his grandfathers, Paddy Flannery and John McDermott. Andy Moran’s grandfather, Tommy Moran was also a student here in Tibohine N.S.
Tibohine N.S. has a proud history and hopefully many years to come.
