Walk audit

Work has commenced on our fourth Green flag- Travel. Lisa from Green schools kindly brought us on a short walk up to Cooneys and then the church. The purpose of this walk was to identify the amount of traffic passing the school and any positive / negative feedback about safety.

Water flag

We were recently awarded with our third Green Flag for water.  This involved a lot of hard work by the school and the Green Schools Committee. Our aim was to make people more aware of their water usage and to reduce their water usage.  We are glad to report that the school's water usage reduced from 9 litres per person per day to 6 litres per person per day. We completed hard work over the year to achieve this Green Flag:
  • Checked the water meter on a daily basis to monitor usage
  • Reduced our water usage in school and at home
  • Blue Day- Raised money to buy a water butt and to donate money to a charity
  • Bought a water butt to re harvest water
  • Green Schools Committee designed a water saving tips leaflet
  • We made our own cleaning products and air fresheners

Raising of our flag
